At a special session of the Cu Chi District People's Council, Comrade Hua Quoc Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Cu Chi District Party Committee, was elected Chairman of the Cu Chi District People's Committee.

On February 25th, the 11th term (2021-2026) of the Cu Chi District People's Council held its 14th session (special session) to approve the organizational structure, the number of deputy heads of specialized agencies under the District People's Committee, and to carry out personnel work.
At the meeting, the People's Council of Cu Chi District dismissed Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Hien from the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Cu Chi District (due to transfer of work). At the same time, Mr. Hua Quoc Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Cu Chi District Party Committee, was elected as Chairman of the People's Committee of Cu Chi District for the term 2021-2026.

According to Nguyen Quyet Thang, Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the Cu Chi District People's Council, the session adopted resolutions related to streamlining the administrative apparatus and personnel matters. This contributes to completing the legal framework for the District People's Committee to direct and implement measures to successfully achieve the goals and tasks of socio-economic development and national defense and security set for 2025.
Previously, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee transferred Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Hien, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Cu Chi District People's Committee, to work at the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union. At the same time, it appointed Mr. Hua Quoc Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee and Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing Zones and Industrial Parks Management Board (HEPZA), to the District Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Cu Chi District Party Committee, and appointed him as Deputy Secretary of the Cu Chi District Party Committee.
On the afternoon of February 21, the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union elected Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Hien as the President of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union for the term 2021-2026.

Comrade Hua Quoc Hung, born in 1982, hails from Ben Tre province. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, a Master's degree in Project Management, and a Senior Certificate in Political Theory. He has held various positions at the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board; Vice Chairman of the Tan Binh District People's Committee; Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing Zones and Industrial Parks (HEPZA); and Deputy Head of HEPZA. He has served as Head of HEPZA from September 2020 to the present.
