Within the framework of the 21st International Exhibition and Conference on Precision Engineering and Fabrication in Vietnam (MTA 2025), held from July 2-5 in Ho Chi Minh City, Informa Markets Vietnam and the Vietnam Industrial Parks Portal (VIZ) collaborated with relevant units to organize the Sustainable Smart Manufacturing Forum.
With the theme "Transforming into a Sustainable Smart Manufacturing Environment in the New Era," the event aims to connect domestic manufacturing businesses, industrial parks, and Vietnamese investors with international partners, while also providing a quick update on the latest advancements in cutting-edge manufacturing worldwide.
At the forum, Mr. Vo Van Than, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Industrial Park Business Association (HBA), stated that Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, and Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on the development of the private economy are two very important resolutions that create momentum to boost Vietnam's economy in the new era.
The association has set the goal of promoting and encouraging businesses to invest in and transform towards smart manufacturing models and sustainable smart industrial parks.
“"The Sustainable Smart Manufacturing Forum is seen as a platform for exchanging information, discussing, and sharing experiences among domestic and foreign businesses to jointly achieve the goals set by the Party and the Government," Mr. Vo Van Than emphasized.
According to Mr. Vo Van Than, through this forum, the association hopes that organizations and businesses will have a more objective view of trends, seize opportunities, utilize existing potential, expand cooperation, and create strong, sustainably developing business communities, contributing to the development of the national economy in the new era.
Associate Professor, Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh, Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, believes that the forum not only keeps pace with global trends but is also fully consistent with the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW.
This is a timely and strategic topic, accurately reflecting the urgent requirements and inevitable trends of modern industry, in the context of Vietnam accelerating international integration, participating deeply in global value chains, and facing new demands regarding net emissions, resource efficiency, and green transformation.
“"The shift from traditional production models to smart production, coupled with sustainable elements of intelligence and governance, is not just an option but the only way to enhance national competitiveness and ensure long-term, harmonious, and inclusive development," said Associate Professor, Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh.
Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Khanh, Executive Director of the Sustainable Smart Manufacturing Forum and General Director of the Vietnam Industrial Park Information Portal, emphasized that the forum is of particular significance in the context of the global manufacturing industry facing a new era where green technology and digitalization will reshape the way production, business, and development are conducted worldwide.
At the forum, experts and speakers focused on discussing and analyzing issues related to opportunities, challenges, and solutions for sustainable smart manufacturing transformation and appropriate strategies in Vietnam; transforming industrial parks into new-generation integrated models, aiming for sustainable smart development; free trade zones and logistics, strategic gateways to boost Vietnamese manufacturing in the new era; and financial and capital market solutions for sustainable smart manufacturing transformation in Vietnam…
